Discover the diverse fungi of New England’s forests, learn key identification techniques, and gain insights into their ecological roles during this guided mushroom identification walk.

Join expert Dr. Millman on a mushroom walk through several different habitats and learn about fungal ecology and practice your identification skills. A deep observer of nature and a wonderful field guide, Dr. Millman brings the perspective of a noted Arctic scholar and author of 23 books to the forests of New England.

By all means, bring your curiosity! Also bring a hand lens or magnifier if you have one, as many of the species we’ll be looking for are invisible to the naked, not to mention the well-clothed eye!

Please Note: This is a non-collection walk.

This session is an excellent follow up to Dr. Millman’s lecture the day before. Sign up for The Fungal Kingdom: A Whiteboard Introduction

Please note: books will be available for purchase directly from Dr. Millman following the program.

Presented in partnership with CHAMP (Community Hub for Actualizing Mycological Passion).
