Instructor: Miranda Greenhalgh

Artist since she could hold a crayon, Miranda studied many media in high school and college courses. During my graduate schooling in wildlife biology she worked on several projects for wildlife illustration and self-published a children’s book in 2007. She started training in martial arts in 1994 which began her interest in Asian culture. She has always been drawn to the Eastern style of brush painting – capturing the essence of the subject in a few elegant brushstrokes makes the painting experience a meditation. She began taking classes with Bayda Asbridge in 2018 through the Worcester Art Museum. She draws her inspiration for subjects primarily from the natural world, both from beautiful New England where she lives, and from trips to Japan and China in recent years.
