Nature-Based Tools for Burnout, Anxiety, and Depression: For Personal Self-Care and Clinical Application
This one-day workshop provides mental health clinicians and healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and firsthand experience to incorporate a wide variety of nature-based tools and mindful nature-based techniques into both personal self-care and professional practice.
Through experiential learning, reflective exercises, and guided practice, you will:
- Describe and differentiate a wide range of evidence-based nature-based interventions (NBIs) and NatureRx prescriptions.
- Assess the quality and appropriateness of NBIs for diverse client needs.
- Integrate mindful, nature-based tools into client-centered treatment plans to support resilience and recovery from anxiety, depression, and burnout.
- Identify risks and limitations associated with NBIs and learn best practices for safe, effective applications.
- Experience a variety of mindful, nature-based techniques that restore your own sense of calm, balance, and connection- helping you cultivate an embodied understanding to share with clients.
- Develop and practice writing customized NBI treatment plans, and receive your own personalized NBI plant to support your wellness and prevent burnout.
- Evaluate and revise NBI plans using practical tools and client self-reporting to ensure alignment with treatment goals.
Evidence-based nature-based interventions engage body and mind in restorative, multisensory ways that reduce stress, regulate emotions, and promote overall well-being - crucial for addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, and clinician burnout. By weaving these holistic practices into your personal and professional toolkit, you will deepen your own resilience while enhancing therapeutic outcomes and client engagement.
