Capture Your Furry Friends in their Best Light 

Capture the charm of your canine companion in this special outdoor photography session designed just for dogs and their humans! Learn tips for posing, lighting, and creating expressive portraits that highlight your dog’s personality amid the garden’s beautiful autumn backdrop.

Learn professional tips for posing, lighting, and composition in an online session, then put your skills into practice during a hands-on shoot at the Garden. Conclude with an online follow-up to refine your editing techniques and create frame-worthy pet portraits for the holidays.

  • Date: This is a three-part program. 
    • Online: Thursday, November 6, 7-8 PM
    • In-Person at NEBG: Saturday, November 8, 1-4 PM
    • In-Person at NEBG Rain Date: Sunday, November 9, 1-4PM
    • Online: Thursday, November 13, 7-8 PM
  • Location: New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill
Ticket price includes day admission to the Garden on November 8 only.

Please note: This is a dogs-only class. Service animals are always welcome at NEBG but only pet dogs are permitted on the grounds. Before attending, please review our Dog Policies and Guidelines for helpful information about bringing your furry family member to the Garden. Guardians must provide proof of current rabies vaccination; those unable to do so will not be permitted to participate.
 
 
    ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR - Steve mcgrath
        

Steve McGrath is a professional freelance photographer and photography teacher who has been creating images for over 20 years. 

Steve first began by shooting sports photography for local high schools, then weddings and stock agencies. His love of the outdoors led him to focus more on his true passion: nature photography.

Steve has been and active member of the Gateway Camera Club for many years and has won numerous awards for his images which have been published in school textbooks and magazines. 

His favorite places to shoot are Acadia National Park in Maine, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts.
