Get your garden ready for the colder months with ecological strategies for overwintering and season extension! Join ecological designers, Lucy Smith, and Nate Fournier, of Reimagine Roots for a knowledge-rich workshop that will guide you through the key practices for closing out your garden in a way that nurtures soil life, protects your plants, and sets the stage for a strong spring.
Together, we'll explore how to harvest fall crops at peak quality, extend your growing season with strategic planting and protection techniques, and 'put the garden to bed' using regenerative methods. You'll leave with tools, tips and inspiration to carry your garden, and its ecosystem, through winter and into abundance next year.
This program incorporate both indoor and outdoor learning. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

About the INSTRUCTORS - REIMAGINED ROOTS
Lucy Smith, VP of Sales and Design, Reimagined Roots
With a BA in Economic Studies, Lucy brings a unique systems-thinking lens to ecological design. Her passion for food sovereignty and ecosystem restoration has led to her study of permaculture in Thailand, Hawaii, and Costa Rica.
Lucy earned her Permaculture Design Certificate at finca Tierra and has designed landscapes along the East Coast that blends biodiversity, beauty and function. At Reimagined Roots, she leads with a focus on reconnecting people to ancient agriculture wisdom and building resilient plant communities.
Nate Fournier, Founder and CEO, Reimagined Roots
Nate's journey from engineering and construction to ecological landscaping began in 2014 after completing his first Permaculture Design Course with Geoff Lawton. With three PDCs, and a General Contractor's license, Nate has cultivated a deep understanding of how to integrate food production, natural habitat, and regenerative design into vibrant outdoor spaces.
